When Gabriela said that will be moving to London, the firts thing that came up to my mind: I have to find a nice gig for us to go!!
Back in Brazil, around 7 years ago, that was our day-day thing to do: gigs, gigs and gigs! ( and talk about the day we would be in London).
I first start to look for a Jimmy Eat Word gig, or any band that I like and was sure she would love, looking on linem that The Automatic would be playing on Hoxton Square – just around the corner from my house!!!
That was it! Gabix birthday would be on the 12th of January, the gig on the 21st: I have found the perfect gift!
The days were passing and I was introducing her one of my top 10 bands.
The idea of going to a gig with one my best friend again, was just great!
The day have – finally – arrived.
After more than a year -I have seen them on Reading Festival, in 2008 -, I would be seeing again, the bad that Fabio have showed me as ” their sound is just you”.
Fighting against the cold and problems at work/home/boyfriend, Me and Gabix arrived to the bar.
The same atmosphere, all we liked, and the past came to our minds.
After a pint – or 2 – of cider, the first band started. Codex…a funky/rock /indie band.
Apart from the Brazilians dancing and making me ashaming of where I am from, the night was going well.
At 9.30, The Automatic started playing…
The first music was from their new CD that would be out on the 8th of March.
Mixed with all the old good ones, Recover, the fisrt single was there, Mosnter, the big one too…and from the “This is a Fix”, they even played Sleepwalking, ( just missed ” as she said”), but they played a good preview what will be the new album.
I can say that I had a great night.
After 1h of lots of fun, we went to take a picture of Rob ( oooh dear, yeah, Gabix really got into the past!!), and he was nice…

So, I guess, Gabix has until 18yh of Feb to get to know all the songs….as he told us they would be on tour in the UK.
Actually, I manage, somehow to find tickets for the sold gig, on the 4th…

“Apart from the Brazilians dancing and making me ashaming of where I am from, the night was going well” Hahaha! Aaaaai, céus!
